The film ‘Aravaan’ prodution by the banner of Amma Creations Mr. T. Shiva, and the casting includes Aathi, Pasupathi, Archana kavi (Malayalam Actress), Thanshika, Karigalan. This is the next film of director Vasantha Balan after the critical acclaim and popular hits like ‘Veyil’ and ‘Angaditheru’.
The film is based on the slice of south Indian life situated on 18th century.
The film crew searched upon many mountains, caves, war time hidden places of the Pandians era, to takeout the period to audience vision. After searching for three months, at last we preferred the place near Madurai melur called Arittapatti Hill.
The hill is still virgin and still is not encroached by human beings or stone kauri people. It’s a very amazing hill containing many caves, streams and huge valleys.
Beside this gorgeous mountain, Art director Vijay Murugan errected the grandeur village set with his huge art department team. The village contains 100s of huts built by bamboo straws, palm leaves and stones. It also includes a big Karuppan kovil and a manthai which is called as somberi madam in now days.
The film is visualized in this set even under the hottest sun with many character artistes and 500 junior artistes.
Director Vasandha Balan says “This hill and the landscape are very important to show the 18th century backdrop. The hill and the set which is errected by 80 lakh rupees are occupying major role in this film. ‘Aravaan’ is worked out day and night continuously.
